Research Ideas
- Peptide screening: Creating peptides from motifs is a great idea, but to make them as different as possible is not a good idea. By embedding different frames consequtively I do not think that the physical properties that make a peptide antibacterial are necessarily emphasized. Actually the opposite might be the case. Helices might get damaged and the amphipathic properties might get weakened. So after the libraries are created the system should select the most cationic or amphipathic peptides.
- Motifs vs Clustering: It might not be the best idea to make them an either/or tool. Motifs can be a measure of similarity in clustering.
